Fast bowler Atkinson Exacerbates England's Fitness Problems.

'Significant concern' for England as Atkinson goes off suffering a hamstring problem.

The pace bowler added to the fitness woes of the England squad after leaving the field early on day two of the Boxing Day Test versus the Australians.

The pace bowler pulled up with his left hamstring post-delivery that he bowled during the morning session.

The touring camp reported Atkinson felt some "soreness" and required time on the sidelines for further assessment "during the day".

The concluding match of the series in Sydney starts this coming Sunday.

England have already lost fast bowlers one seamer to a knee injury and another paceman because of a side injury on the current trip.

A replacement bowler was called up as injury reinforcement.

The seamer had a tough time in the opening two Tests, claiming a mere three wickets.

He was left out of the third Test, then recalled for the Boxing Day match as Archer's replacement.

Atkinson showed better form in Melbourne, claiming a couple of wickets during the host's first knock, then making 28 with the bat among just a trio of England players to get into double digits.

After bowling one over late on the first day, he returned for the second day's play and dismissed the nightwatchman edging to the keeper.

However, on the final ball of his spell, he bowled a slower ball to the batsman and immediately felt at his leg.

Gus Atkinson returned to the side for the fourth Ashes Test after being left out the previous Test.
