Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
